From the north
(Eureka and Oregon)

  • Follow Highway 101 (the Redwood Highway) through the redwoods to Leggett
  • Turn west (right) on Highway 1 (the Coast Route) and cross the Eel River and the Sinkyone Range to the coast just north of Westport.
  • Stay on Highway 1 through Fort Bragg and continue about 10 more miles down the coast.
  • Turn west (right) at the first stop light you reach after leaving Fort Bragg (Little Lake Road) and then
  • Right again at the first driveway. You're home!
  • Temporary detour directions:

  • Roadwork is being done at the entrance to mendocino at Little Lake Road. Until work has finished in the next several days, enter Mendocino on Lansing street. Follow Lansing street up the hill and then down again turning left on Little Lake Road. Proceed two and a half blocks to our driveway on the left.

From the south
(San Francisco and the East Bay)

  • From San Francisco take Highway 101 just past Cloverdale to the Mendocino/Highway 128 West exit.
  • Travel west on Highway 128 to Highway 1 and go north ten miles to Mendocino.
  • After crossing the bridge into Mendocino, take the second left at the stop light onto Little Lake Road. We are the first large white Victorian home on the hillside to your right.
  • Temporary detour directions:

  • Roadwork is being done at the entrance to mendocino at Little Lake Road. Until work has finished in the next several days, enter Mendocino on Main Street. Proceed to Howard Street and turn right. Take Howard Street three blocks to Little Lake Road and turn right. You will find our driveway two and a half blocks East on the left.

Travel time from San Francisco is approximately 3 1/2 hours, unless you choose to enjoy coastal Highway 1 all the way, which takes approximately 5 hours.

From the east
(Chico, Sacramento, and the Central Valley)

  • Take Highway 20, which joins northbound Highway 101 at Calpella.
  • Follow Highway 20 when it turns west (left) in Willits.
  • When you reach the coast just south of Fort Bragg, turn south (left) on Highway 1
  • Turn west (right) at the first stop light you reach after leaving Fort Bragg (Little Lake Road) and then
  • Right again at the first driveway. You're home!
